2005 Yuan Yuan Tang Lao Banzhang

Ancient tree Lao Banzhang tea made with the same material as 2005 Chen Yuan Hao Lao Banzhang.

While there are Lao Banzhang teas out there made from autumn material with relatively heavy processing, it is not the case with this tea. There is plenty of power and character in this tea, and it calls for setting aside time for it.

If your budget allows, I strongly recommend this tea (and other Yuan Yuan Tang for that matter). There is good reason Yuan Yuan Tang ancient tree teas are similar to Chen Yuan Hao, as in early days they used the same Honghua tea factory for processing. In fact, some Yuan Yuan Tang teas are superior to Chen Yuan Hao, while being consistently more affordable. Only few dozen cakes were made, once these limited opportunities are gone, there won’t be more. All come with flawless storage.
